I’m going to explain how I would apply in my class some of the classroom management activities proposed by Paul Seligson. The subject will be the computer. At the beginning of the session, the students will have to move: Revolving circles, outer moves so different partner each time. The first task, we’ll see some words about the computer, components and function of this components. Word’s for study: Program, monitor, keyboard, optical mouse, operating system, CD/DVD reader/recorder, hard disk, floppy drive, computer tower. Next, we’ll hear the pronunciation and resume of function of each one. The teacher will give them an image of the computer. Students are going to work in pairs, for example, for this task with right partner. Each pair should point to this words into image of a computer. When all of them have finished the task, they can change the image with a pair of student next, for example, left pair. Now they should check the picture and indicate mistake made, afterwards, each student should say what are the errors and the right answer. With this task, we’ll get at least four students exchange ideas. The second task, now the teacher shows the students, several definitions of how a computer works. Students are going to work in pairs, for example, for this task with left partner. Each pair should write the right word of definition. When all of them have finished the task, they can change the answers with the pair of students in front of them. This pair will have to review and explain the right answer.
