CALL AND RESPONSE TIPS

Shared by Sandra Redondo:

The classroom management strategy I use and I can recommend to other teachers are “call and response” which can be a series of actions which attract the students’ attention.

They are useful in a big group when you need your students to be quiet and pay attention to you.

One example is when the teacher says:

- “one, two, three”

and the students continue

-“eyes on me”

or the teacher says:

-“Macaroni and cheese”

and the students have to answer

-“everybody freeze”

Although one can also turn on and off the lights, raise your hand or do any action you want that can draw the attention of your students.
