THE MOTIVATION JAR

Shared by Rocío González:

I implement the motivation jar in my classroom.

This is a relatively small jar in which the teacher puts small pieces (for example, wooden game pieces) every time one student raises his or her hand to ask a question, is polite to another student, contributes to class work and so on.

In this way, rewards are collaboratively achieved and not individually obtained. When the jar is full, the class can choose a prize which can consist in playing a review game like Kahoot or playing an English culturally related sport like baseball.

I definitely recommend the motivation jar strategy for classroom management to any teacher at any educational level.
